Lesson 6 Reflection

The book in chapter 3 ask some question about group work and if we like them. I don't like them but because I am always afraid that not everybody will do their part or that I won't get the grade that I think I should get. I like working with people to build something together or make something. I think it is a lot easier to work with someone when your grade is not affected by it. Also by working with someone you get some else part of view, that is also good for the parents of the child because they can get more than one person's thoughts on their child. It was really interesting reading about how to work with parents because some of the things that it takes about I haven't thought about before. For example, how the parent might react to founding out that their child has some kind of disability. Another thing that I learned was paraprofessionals. I haven't heard that word before, but reading about them. They sound really nice to have, specifically when a teacher has some really active students.

In part of chapter 7, I really enjoyed when it talked about idea of how to include students that have a communication disability. The teacher always needs to try to found way to make sure that all the students feel include. It is very important that the teacher tries hard to make sure that all the children are include and that the classroom is a place of safety and love. It also goes over different subject skills, to help a teacher to be able to teach that subject to a student that is struggling in any subject.

Lesson 12 Reflection

This week had a lot to do with test, but most importantly how to accommodate test for students. I really like all the ideas that this chapter had about it. It talked about things to do before, during, and after. I feel like teachers need to be able to think of different ways to  test their students because a lot of students hate the idea of taking a written test that they have to answer the question. Teachers need to remember that sometimes the best way to test students is in an inform setting. That is where some student feel the most comfortable and are more likely to give you an honest results on their knowledge.   You will get different reactions to test,   and it is the teacher that need to accommodate to those needs and reaction. This week I did the simulation of the eye patch. It was harder than I thought it was going to be. I typically forget that my left eye is weaker than my right. So when I put the eye patch on my right eye it was difficult to read ...

Lesson 7 Reflection

This week was about assessment. I really enjoyed how the reading talked about all the different kinds of assessments. Sometimes I mean like us as teacher forget that there are more than just the formal standard ways of assessing. We need to assess the students learning in more different ways. A big reason more just other ways of testing is because some students of test anxiety which will cause them to close up and do really bad on the test when that students really do know the information that you are testing them on. Also, another reason is that they might not comprehend what they are reading or just don't understand the language that the test is in. I know for me on some test, I had someone read the test to me because I had a hard time comprehend things that I read. That is the only way that I could get through school. I had it mostly in elementary school but I still enjoyed, and I saw a difference on my test scores when I tried taking a test without someone reading me the quest...

Lesson 2 Reflection

" Doctrine of Inclusion ," Elder M. Russell Ballard In this talk, Elder Ballard talks about how we need to make everyone feel included. Elder Ballard mention how in the parable that Jesus tells, it talk about a Samaritan  helps a Jew. It is important that Jesus mentions this two different groups because back then they didn't like each other and would never inter mingle. From this parable we can learn that we need to treat everyone with care and love.  " The Moving of the Water ," Elder Boyd K. Packer Elder Packer talks about how we need to serve our neighbors. We need to remember that everyone is our neighbor. No matter how big or how little our act of service is, it can have a big impact on the person that is receiving the service.    " Concern for the One ," Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin Elder Wirthlin says that we need to always make sure that we care for everyone. We are all children of God and we need to treat everyone like brothers and ...
