Since I lived through having an IEP, it is hard to image my school life without. It didn't reflect how I was treated but I know that it helped me a lot. If I didn’t have it, I know that schools would have been a lot harder for me. Reading chapter eight really made me appropriate having an IEP and parents that always made sure that I got the help that I needed. I wonder if the kids that don't meet the requirements for special education have parents that help them at home. I know for me that helped, my parents always had me push myself and learn. I never used my IEP as a crutch because that is how I was raised.
I feel like the government tries to found ways to help the students that are struggling which is a great think. But what about the students that are gifted and talented. Sometimes the hints that the government comes out with buts a stop to the growth of gifted and talented. I understand that it s hard to focus on both groups, but when you come out with something that is going to help one. I think you should think about what it is going to do to the other students.
